As our Talent Marketing Manager, you'll lead efforts to attract top-tier veterinarians and support staff, positioning us as the premier employer for veterinary medicine professionals. Your expertise will not only contribute to our expansion across numerous clinics and locations but also play a pivotal role in solidifying our industry leadership.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in content marketing and analytical thinking, with a focus on recruitment marketing, thought leadership, and paid social. They excel at creating compelling content, understand the nuances of talent acquisition, and have the ability to shape an effective employer brand. Additionally, their expertise extends to guiding industry discussions through thought leadership, and they are skilled in using paid social strategies for increased visibility and engagement.

This role reports directly to the Director of Marketing and will work from our headquarters in Culver City, CA, with flexibility for remote work during set days of the week.

In this role, you will:

(~30%) Brand-Building

  • Support an “always on” marketing strategy and plan to develop Modern Animal’s brand across paid, owned, and earned channels.
  • Drive thought leadership and trust in our brand by partnering with our PR & Communications Lead to identify and nurture new partners and outlets, such as publications, organizations, podcasts, etc.
  • Utilize our Employer Value Proposition framework to craft distinctive narratives that highlight Modern Animal's commitment to medical excellence, professional growth, and well-being.
  • Launch and manage an employee advocacy program that encourages our veterinarians and support staff to share honest insights about working at Modern Animal on social media.
  • Partner with Clinic Managers & Hosts to develop local marketing activations to help hit member goals.
  • Support Clinic teams with collateral, talking points and other marketing needs to make activations successful.

(~30%) Recruitment Marketing

  • Launch multi-channel recruitment marketing campaigns (paid social, organic content, blogs, SEO, and email) to drive awareness for the Modern Animal brand and build talent pipelines for new and existing markets.
  • Develop email campaigns communicating the unique benefits and growth opportunities available for veterinarians and support staff at Modern Animal.
  • Collaborate with Creative and Talent Acquisition teams to create content and collateral that communicates Modern Animal’s unique value proposition to veterinarians and support staff.
  • Support internal communications for our Employee Referral Program and develop systems that encourage employees to refer talented veterinary professionals to our organization.

(~20%) Content Creation

  • Collaborate with Creative and Talent Acquisition teams to create content and collateral that communicates Modern Animal’s unique value proposition to veterinarians and support staff.
  • Develop blog posts, thought leadership, and articles with narratives that connect back to our Employer Value Proposition framework and support broader initiatives.
  • Monitor Glassdoor reviews and collaborate with the People team on recommended communications.

(~12%) Data Analysis

  • Track the success of recruitment marketing strategies, focusing on conversion rates, engagement metrics, and demographic insights.
  • Conduct A/B testing for different elements of recruitment campaigns to optimize content and messaging for maximum effectiveness.
  • Deliver biweekly and monthly reports on recruitment KPIs to the Creative and Talent Acquisition teams. Utilize insights to consistently improve and refine marketing strategies.

(~8%) Event Coordination

  • Collaborate with our Event Lead to orchestrate Modern Animal's presence at conferences. Ensure a compelling representation of our employer brand through booth design, promotional materials, and engaging activities.
  • Organize virtual and in-person networking and training events (i.e. continuing education) that facilitate interaction between potential hires and current staff.

Why you’d be a great fit:

  • Minimum 4-5 years in an employer marketing role supporting advertising campaigns, social media content development and event planning
  • We’re looking for a well-rounded marketer proficient in: email marketing tools (i.e. HubSpot, Gem), website analytics (i.e. Google Analytics), digital and non-digital marketing strategies, best practices, and channels, including print, website, paid and organic social (LinkedIn, Meta, Instagram, TikTok, etc.), and other media tactics
  • Enthusiasm for Modern Animal’s mission
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong aptitude for data-driven decisions
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate, influence, and earn trust with a wide range of internal team members
  • The ability to think big, move things along, and keep it simple while delivering measurable results for the business
  • Able to exercise high judgment and deliver results, particularly in a narrow timeframe
  • Project and campaign management experience to ensure projects are designed, implemented, and evaluated effectively

The pay range for this position is $107,000 - $131,000 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and equity grant units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the California Pay Transparency Act. Base pay information is based on geographic location.
