ZestFinance, Inc. seeks a Senior Data Scientist in Burbank, CA.

Duties: Designing and implementing highly generalizable models for predicting various outcomes. Translating unstructured business problems into well-defined machine learning projects. Taking responsibility for modeling implementation in real world settings to solve real world problems. Identifying and managing high leverage opportunities for modeling work. Collaborating with a cross-functional team of Engineers, Product Managers, and Business Design and implement highly generalizable models for predicting various outcomes. Offering alternative perspectives and techniques where necessary to achieve this goal. Easily recognizing critical aspects of work and adept at conveying meaning broadly within Zest and does so proactively. Owning the technical aspects of a data science project from end-to-end and directs effort where necessary to ensure overall soundness. Collaborate with a cross-functional team of Engineers, Product Managers, and Business Design and implement highly generalizable models for predicting various outcomes. Communicate with all levels and groups within the organization. Regularly provide and solicit feedback to all levels and groups at Zest. Actively prioritizing, iterating, and communicating new and enhanced processes to accelerate business outcomes, reduce manual effort, and/or reduce key business risks.

Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or related plus 1 year of experience. Requires 1 year of experience using script languages, including Python. Requires 1 year of experience using visualization, dataset process & ml toolkits. Requires 1 year of experience developing advanced predictive analytical solutions for the financial industry. Requires 1 year of experience in dataset validation, sanity checking, cleaning, preprocessing & aggregation. Requires 1 year of experience working with big data. Requires 1 year of experience with logistic regression, variable selection and xgboost. Requires 1 year of experience in building predictive models on very large dataset. Telecommuting is permitted.
