We believe that mental health is just as important as physical health. We recognize that mental health issues can be complex and multifaceted, and we are dedicated to treating the whole person, not just the symptoms.

We aim to create a world where mental health is no longer stigmatized or marginalized, but rather is embraced as an integral part of one's overall well-being.

We believe that by providing quality care that is both evidence-based and compassionate, we can empower individuals to take charge of their mental health and achieve their full potential. We are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of those struggling with mental health issues and we strive to be a force for positive change in the field of mental healthcare.

Rula is a remote-first company. We currently hire in most U.S. states, with the exception of Hawaii.

About the Role

Rula is seeking a mission-driven Compliance Manager to safeguard the integrity of our behavioral health network and drive day-to-day compliance excellence. Reporting to the Director of Compliance, you will lead end-to-end investigations into compliance and ethics while providing strategic advisory support to our Clinical, Business Operations, and Billing teams. You will translate complex state and federal regulations into practical guidance, manage provider licensure board reporting, and architect scalable policies that balance risk with our mission to expand access to care. Through rigorous auditing and cross-functional collaboration, you will identify systemic risks and ensure robust remediation, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare compliance, including policy development, regulatory interpretation, and program implementation

  • 3+ years conducting or supporting compliance investigations

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

  • Experience collaborating with business and other key stakeholders (i.e. Legal) on compliance concerns and risks

  • Strong and concise communication skills, verbally and in writing

  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, CMS guidance, OIG compliance program guidance, and other applicable federal and state healthcare laws

Preferred Qualifications

While having the preferred qualifications enhances your candidacy, having all of them is not mandatory. We encourage all interested applicants to apply, even those who may not meet every preferred requirement.

  • Master’s Degree and/or Juris Doctor or equivalent advanced training in healthcare law, compliance, or public health

  • 2+ years of experience in telehealth, privacy and/or behavioral health compliance

  • Experience working with customer support and healthcare systems such as Zendesk, EHR platforms, and Salesforce, with the ability to navigate multiple tools efficiently to manage cases, document interactions, and maintain accurate records

  • 100% remote work environment: Working hours to support a healthy work-life balance, ensuring you can meet both professional and personal commitments (must be based in United States, currently not hiring in Hawaii)
