Essential
The Director of Logistics will manage the transportation, Third Party Logistics Warehouses, and fulfillment elements of the business. The Director of Logistics will perform fulfillment network analyses and design, drive carrier negotiations, ensure carrier performance and service level agreements. The Director will partner with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain Planning, Tech and Finance to drive overall improvement of value chains for the business.
What You'll Do:
- Build Logistics/Supply Chain data set necessary to drive planning and decision making in the areas of logistics sourcing, budgeting, freight network design.
- Develop supply chain modeling/optimization competencies and tools.
- Manage network optimization as the distribution/freight network roadmap evolves.
- Improve logistics cost management (budgeting, planning, improvement processes/communications).
- Track key KPI’s including cost and On-Time Delivery to customers.
- Reduce overall transit times and performance through network design.
- Improve logistics and Network Planning to improve on time fulfillment, OTD, logistics capacity, fulfillment capacity.
- Partner with 3PL to model streamlined picking economics, simplify shipping operations, and make the package the “most economic” for our carriers to deliver.
- Partners with cross-functional leadership teams to ensure that 3PL keeps pace with strategic plans and drives scalable growth.
- Partner with Management and freight carriers to develop a roadmap of prioritized delivery capabilities and execute a plan to develop these innovative capabilities.
- Improve proactive delivery management tools to enhance the customer experience.
- Develop requirements that advance our technology tools for Logistics Management.
Who You Are:
- Broad knowledge of shipping requirements, strong focus on national, regional and local carriers.
- Understanding of warehouse and order fulfillment operations.
- Understanding of best industry practices, application of principles, concepts, practices and standards.
- Strong leader with solid hands-on transportation experience, including import/export, air, ocean, truckload and LTL experience, as well as tools, techniques, and successful on-time delivery performance.
- A passion for driving carrier performance, metrics, KPIs, and for measuring and delivering world-class results.
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Word.
- Highly detail oriented and organized.
- Process driven and aptitude to implement systems to help streamline growing business pains.
- Adept at working independently and providing support to cross functional team.
- Good communication skills; written, oral and interpersonal.
- Ability to work independently and employ effective time management skills.
What You Need:
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Eight (8) years of logistics/supply chain experience.
Compensation and Benefits:
- PAY RANGE: $130,000 - $193,000
- Your base salary is one part of your total compensation package. The salary range represents the entire compensation range for this position. Exact compensation will depend on a number of factors, which may include the successful candidate's skills, level, years of experience, technical expertise, and other qualifications. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. This role is also eligible for equity + generous benefits + 401k + unlimited PTO etc - see our list of perks/ benefits below.
