OCP is looking for a Software Engineer - 3D Tools (Senior or Above)

As a 3D Tools Software Engineer at OCP, you will play a pivotal role in defining and building the user experience for our game creation sandbox, CreatorLab. You’ll lead the charge in building creator-focused tools that make it easy and enjoyable to express new games in CreatorLab. What you build will be used both by other OCP developers to make our own first-party game, Project Frontier, and by creators to remix Frontier into new games.

For this role, we’re open to candidates who are at a Senior level or above (e.g., Staff or Principal).

What You Will Do:

  • Build world-class tools that allow intuitive expression of sandbox action RPG game design for creators at various levels of sophistication.

  • Help define and lead the implementation of a user-friendly UX for creation within CreatorLab.

  • Design, develop, and maintain tools and systems that facilitate the creation, testing, and deployment of user-generated content.

  • Optimize tools and workflows to ensure efficient content creation, focusing on performance and scalability.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including game designers and artists, to identify pain points in content creation and create solutions that improve the overall user experience.

Need to Have

  • Passion for building 3D tools that empower others to create.

  • Experience as a Tools Engineer or in a similar role within the gaming industry.

  • Expert in C++ and experience with Unreal Engine.

  • Strong UX design sense and a passion for creating user-friendly interfaces.

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and translate concepts into functional tools.

  • Ability to successfully communicate and collaborate in a fully remote environment.

Nice to Have

  • A passion for gaming and a deep understanding of UGC.

  • Experience developing multiplayer games, custom levels, and maps.

  • Experience with modding or creating modding tools.

OCP targets paying base salaries in the top 75th percentile of similarly situated companies in each country where we have employees. This means that pay ranges differ from country to country.
