About the role:

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and self-starting Electrical Engineer that will play a critical part in our product lifecycle process, from design and development to post-market analysis. You’ll collaborate closely with our manufacturers to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable electronics through rigorous design verification. A key part of this role will be responsible for screening and processing Nanit devices returned for technical compliance, performing root cause analysis, and reporting findings to support long-term resolutions.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Analyze and Resolve Field Issues: Conduct defective unit analysis, reverse engineering, and root cause analysis on returned products to identify and solve complex hardware issues.
  • Design and Develop: Perform circuit design and analysis for new and existing products, with a focus on embedded systems and CPUs.
  • Test and Validate: Design and review testing paradigms, perform hands-on product and reliability testing using bench equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, etc.), and operate testing scripts.
  • Collaborate and Communicate: Work independently and collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams. You will be expected to maintain thorough documentation and communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and our Asia-Pacific manufacturing partners.
  • Lab Management: Take responsibility for lab organization and management to ensure an efficient and effective testing environment.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in hands-on hardware development environment
  • Deep understanding of circuit design, component principles, and embedded systems
  • Comfortable working through schematic and layouts of analog, digital, and mixed-signal board design, including high-speed digital signal interfaces, multi-layer boards, and RF design
  • Experienced with hands-on lab work, including soldering, re-work, and operating test bench equipment
  • Proficient in schematic capture and layout tools (like Altium, Fusion 360, Eagle)
  • Strong analytical abilities, with experience in root cause analysis and designing validation tests
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and experience in thorough documentation and reporting

EEO, Salary and Location:

This is a hybrid role that will require prospective candidates to be in our NYC 3 days per week.

Salary Range: $115,000 to $125,000 + plus equity and benefits. The base pay is one component of Nanit's total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, and basic life insurance. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
