The Account Director role is an individual contributor responsible for prospecting and closing sales in GumGum’s Market Leading Contextual Advertising platform. Reporting to the Head of Sales, VIC, this role is responsible for developing key relationships within large and mid-size agencies with occasional managerial guidance on client calls. We require this role to work relatively autonomously while being supported by a cross-functional pre-sales team.

Account Directors have experience and deep knowledge of the online media landscape, and the advertising community and have at least 4+ years of digital media experience. The Account Director uses existing processes to solve a variety of challenging problems to deliver for clients. The role is required to apply independent judgment and discretion to select appropriate options from GumGum’s defined and proven products.

Note: GumGum fosters a flexible work environment, offering GumGummers the ability to work either in-office or remotely/from home. However, for occasional in-person collaboration, we kindly ask that this position be located within a 'commutable' distance to our office.

What You'll Achieve

  • Drive revenue and new business for Victoria, managing a book of business with top agencies.
  • Identify and develop opportunities from marketing leads.
  • Engage in high-volume sales activities like cold calling, presentations, RFPs, and client entertainment.
  • Upsell current clients with insights into display and video offerings, supporting new product rollouts.
  • Build strong relationships with brands, agencies, and clients to understand their needs and offer tailored solutions.
  • Provide client feedback to the product team to enhance services.
  • Collaborate with the Account Manager and internal teams for smooth proposal implementation.

Skills You'll Bring

  • Comfortable with Salesforce for logging meetings, calls, and pulling reports.
  • Ideally 4+ years of selling experience in digital advertising sales
  • Bachelor's Degree in Media or Marketing/Advertising field
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong in building and maintaining strategic client relationships.
  • Detail-oriented with superb organizational skills.
  • Quick problem solver, effectively managing stakeholders.
  • Understands business drivers like P&L, COGS, and revenue.
  • Analytical, using data to develop creative solutions.
  • Passionate, proactive, and highly motivated with a sense of urgency.
  • Adaptable to change, open to feedback, and able to think outside the box.
