The Director of Solutions Marketing & Enablement is a new role at GumGum and will lead a newly established team focused on GTM activities of GumGum’s suite of products. This team will develop deep insights on GumGum audience segments that translate into a solutions-based approach to marketing & enabling our teams across our suite of solutions to drive incremental, long-term revenue for the business. GumGum’s multi-faceted suite of products requires someone with a seasoned tech-side and/or agency/brand background who can simplify our client problems and build GTM approaches that align our products accordingly.

This role will collaborate with sales and marketing leadership to define the structure for a segment marketing approach – from empowering sales with one-to-one and one-to-many communications to developing segment/persona-focused pitch material playbooks, composing RFIs and RFPs, and contributing to the development and activation of data-driven insights. This individual will be responsible for establishing processes, marketing programs, and narrative overseeing a small team of solutions marketing experts.

Note: GumGum currently operates in a ‘work from home’ virtual environment with sporadic opportunities for in-person business and morale events. There will not be any requirement to go into the office on a daily basis moving forward. We prefer this position to be located in New York.

What You'll Achieve

  • Deep understanding of GumGum’s customers’ needs, market dynamics, and competitive landscape
  • Develop segment value prop and messaging guidelines, translating research and segment needs into business insights with an in-depth understanding of customers, competitors, products, and industries
  • Partner with Sales leadership to understand pipeline and revenue targets and develop a communications plan and programs that help acquire new customers, accelerate deals and expand current customer deployments
  • Develop a clear understanding of the customer buying journey and adapt GTM programming to accelerate speed to conversion
  • Partner with the Product Marketing team to align product positioning and messaging by understanding and refining market segment needs and customer personas, as well for competitive intelligence
  • Identify and create content marketing opportunities with Product, Corporate Communications teams to generate an ongoing lead gen strategy & plan inclusive of budgeting & reporting
  • Engage with key internal stakeholders from Sales, Product, and Product Marketing
  • Participate in sales team calls, in-person meetings, and planning sessions
  • Lead competitive intelligence analysis related to primary segment/persona focus
  • Maintain segment-specific RFI/RFP playbooks
  • Help define KPIs and regularly communicate results

Skills You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years off experience working with Fortune 500/1000 brands on advertising strategy and/or a Big 6 agency and/or ad tech provider
  • 5+ years’ experience with communications and/or field marketing for an ad tech company, preferably in a start-up, media, tech, or advertising environment
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms such as Marketo
  • Experience executing market analysis and developing collateral in PowerPoint and other creative software
  • Experience managing a team responsible for market research, persona-driven narrative, segment-driven marketing programming, and sales enablement
  • Experience with lead-generation capabilities within Salesforce
  • Ability to work independently and/or facilitate communications across functional teams
  • Robust Google Suite, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
  • Willing and able to work extended hours as needed
  • A balance between a strategic mindset and focused execution
  • Comfortable with an unstructured role that requires frequent changes in prioritization of time and focus in a fast-paced environment
  • Independent, entrepreneurial, passionate self-starter focused on delivering excellence, a can-do attitude, and a sense of urgency
  • Ability to work with individuals from different teams and backgrounds
