The Opportunity:
As our People & Workplace Manager, you'll own the day-to-day employee experience at Density across our San Francisco office and distributed workforce. You'll keep our physical workspace running smoothly while supporting people operations for the full team. Partnering closely with the CEO, employees and external partners, you'll shape our employee experience and how our team is supported, helping create a consistent and positive environment for everyone.
In this role you will:
People Operations
- Support the full employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, performance, compensation, engagement initiatives, and offboarding
- Administer employee benefits programs and coordinate employee leaves (medical, parental, and other statutory leaves)
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
- Maintain and manage HR systems and records, including HRIS administration in Rippling
- Manage employment verifications and respond to external requests
- Work closely with the finance team on payroll and benefits reconciliation, and be a go-to resource for employee pay or benefits questions
Workplace Experience
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the San Francisco office and help make it a welcoming, well-organized, and fun place to work
- Own relationships with building management and office vendors, including catering, cleaning, maintenance, and other service providers
- Manage office supplies, mail, shipping, and inventory; proactively anticipate office needs
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee IT requests, coordinating troubleshooting, access, and equipment needs
- Plan and support team events and in-office gatherings
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of experience in people operations, office management, or a combined role
- Hands-on experience with benefits administration, leave coordination, compliance, and employee records management
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms (bonus if you've worked in Rippling)
- Experience supporting a distributed or hybrid workforce, with an understanding of how to create consistent employee experiences across locations
- Strong discretion and sound judgment in managing sensitive employee matters and confidential employee data
- Comfort working independently in a small team environment where you wear many hats
- Experience managing office operations, vendor relationships, and budgets
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities without dropping the ball
- Clear, approachable communication and strong relationship-building skills across teams and external partners
Job Compensation Range:
Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000
Primary Location: San Francisco
This is an in person role that requires a minimum in office 4 days a week in office in SF: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday.
